Privacy Policy
A plain-English explanation of what we collect, how we handle disability and health information, and the rights you keep at every step.
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
InclusiveDating exists for adults who already face too many barriers - and a poorly written privacy policy should not be another one. This page explains, in clear language, what information we collect when you use our disability dating app, why we collect it, and the choices you have over it. We do not sell your data. We do not share your disability disclosures with advertisers. Health-related details you choose to share live behind extra layers of protection.
If anything below is unclear, write to us at [email protected] and a real human will reply within five business days.

Information We Collect
We collect the minimum we need to run a verified, accessible, and safe inclusive dating community. Here is the full list - nothing hidden in footnotes.
Profile information you provide
- Display name, age, location (city-level), gender identity, and orientation.
- Photos you upload, including the live selfie used for human photo verification.
- Bio text, communication preferences, and conversation prompts you complete.
- Optional preferences such as friendship-first mode, accessibility filters, and venue requirements.
Disability disclosure (optional and member-controlled)
- Any disability, neurotype, or chronic-illness information you add to your Disability Deets section.
- Access needs you choose to publish (mobility aids, ASL, low-sensory venues, seizure considerations).
- You can edit, hide, or delete every disclosure field at any time without contacting us.
Device and usage data
- Approximate IP location, device type, browser, operating system, and crash logs.
- In-app actions such as profile views, likes, blocks, and report submissions - used for safety, not advertising.
Messages and content
- Messages and voice or video clips you exchange inside the app are stored encrypted at rest.
- Moderators may review reported content to enforce community standards (anti-devotee, anti-harassment).
How We Handle Sensitive Health Information
Disability and health data is treated as a special category
When you share information about a disability, mental-health condition, or chronic illness, we treat it as a special category of personal data under GDPR Article 9 and an equivalent sensitive category under U.S. state laws. That means it is encrypted at rest with stronger keys, segregated from advertising systems, and never shared with brokers, insurers, or employers. You alone decide whether it appears on your public profile, only inside private chats, or not at all.
We will never ask you to verify a diagnosis with medical documentation. Your word is enough.
Cookies and Tracking
We use a small, deliberate set of cookies and similar storage. You can adjust functional and analytics categories from your account settings at any time.
| Category | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Sign-in sessions, verification, security, and abuse prevention. | Yes |
| Functional | Remember theme (light/dark), language preference, and accessibility settings. | No |
| Analytics | Aggregated, anonymized usage to improve the platform. No individual tracking. | No |
| Marketing | We do not run third-party advertising trackers on our website. | Not used |
How We Share Data (and What We Never Do)
The short version: we share with the partners we need to run the service, and never with anyone else. Here is the side-by-side.
Your Rights Under GDPR and CCPA
Whether you live in California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have meaningful control over your data. You can exercise any of these rights from your account settings or by emailing [email protected].
- Right to access. Download a full copy of everything we hold about you in a machine-readable file within 30 days.
- Right to deletion. Erase your account and associated data permanently - no retention of profile content after deletion completes.
- Right to portability. Transfer your profile, messages, and preferences to another service in a standard format.
- Right to correction. Update or correct any inaccurate personal information at any time.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Already the default - we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will never reduce your service quality, charge a different price, or limit features because you exercised a privacy right.
Consumer Health Data Privacy
Some U.S. states - including Washington (My Health My Data Act), Nevada, and Connecticut - give extra protection to consumer health data, which includes information that could identify a person's physical or mental health condition. Disability disclosures on InclusiveDating fall under that category, and we apply those protections to every member regardless of where they live.
That means we obtain your separate, informed consent before collecting health-related details, we keep them out of every advertising or profiling system, and we honor a dedicated request to withdraw consent at any time. To make a consumer health data request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Health Data Request" and we will respond within 15 days.
Data Retention and Security
We keep your data only as long as your account is active, plus a short window for safety and legal obligations. Once you delete your account, profile content is removed within 30 days. Anonymized safety logs (used to ban repeat offenders attempting to create new devotee accounts) may be retained longer in a form that cannot identify you.
Security in practice: encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest, role-based access for our small moderation team, mandatory two-factor authentication for staff, quarterly penetration testing, and a published vulnerability-disclosure program at [email protected].
